AMA stands for Awetism Mums Assembly.
What is AMA?
AMA is an event where parents of children on the autism spectrum get a chance to meet, gather and share their stories. Invited guest speakers (they are commonly parents of special children as well) or parents seated in the audience can share their journey of caring for a special child. They can share useful tips or pour their hearts out. It acts as an avenue for them to get their questions answered, worries resolved, and sorrows dissolved. Inevitably, parents can learn from one another and hopefully go back happier and apply what they learn from other parents’ experience to their special child. Ultimately, a happier parent makes a much happier child.
Who started AMA?
Lydiawati MZ founded AMA. She is the author of A Worthy Race book where she wrote her journey with her son on the autism spectrum, Muaz. She is also an aspiring speaker who have had Talks in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei, on a mission to support, educate and motivate parents.
On 12th October 2019, we held our first AMA in a cozy cafe with more than 50 pax under one roof. Let the pictures do all the talking.
